We're seeking an ASL-proficient paraprofessional to support students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting. You'll work closely with teachers and support staff to help students participate in classroom activities, build independence, and connect with their school community. Responsibilities Use ASL to support communication and student participation throughout the school day. Provide individual or small-group assistance under the teacher's direction. Reinforce classroom lessons, directions, and routines using each student's preferred communication methods. Support accommodations and goals outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as directed. Assist with classroom transitions, activities, and supervision. Encourage positive interactions, self-advocacy, and independence. Share observations about student progress and needs with the teacher and support team. Maintain student confidentiality and follow school policies. Qualifications Proficiency in American Sign Language sufficient to communicate effectively with students. High school diploma or equivalent, plus any applicable state or district paraprofessional qualifications. Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff. Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to complete required background checks and school onboarding requirements.
Pay:
$28.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
