BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assists a certificated teacher(s) or specialist(s) in providing instruction to students in a special education learning environment; monitors and reports student progress, behavior and performance. Positions in this class are distinguished from other Paraeducator positions by assignment to work with students with mild to moderate (M/M) disabilities, such as students in a Special Day Class, or a Resource Specialist Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and demonstrated experience in working with children in a learning situation; preferably children with learning problems. College level training preferred. Must meet ONE of the following:
  • 48 college units (Copy of Transcript Required) OR
  • AA or higher (Copy of Transcript Confirming Degree Required) OR
  • Passing score on our District's written exam Copy of Transcript Resume Requirements / Qualifications
