Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract An education service district is actively seeking 50+ paraprofessional Bus Aides to support student transportation for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers approximately 15 hours per week, with a daily schedule of 3 hours split between morning and afternoon routes.
Location:
Denver, CO area, with a focus on Denver and Northern Denver communities.
Schedule:
Morning Route:
Approximately 90 minutes between 6:30 AM and 8:30
AM Afternoon Route:
Approximately 90 minutes between 2:30 PM and 4:30
PM Assignment Dates:
January 5, 2026 - May 29, 2026, with ESY (Extended School Year) opportunities and potential to resume in August for the 2026-2027 school year. Strong possibility for contract renewal.
Responsibilities:
Ride bus routes to and from school, accompanying students during transit. Assist drivers by ensuring student safety and comfort on the bus. Support 1:1 or 2:1 student caseloads, primarily for special needs children. Use verbal de-escalation techniques as needed to maintain a calm and safe environment. Familiarity with special needs student care on buses and prior experience riding routes with assigned students is preferred.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is welcomed. Ability to communicate effectively and handle challenging behaviors calmly. Prior experience working with special needs children is advantageous. Dependability and a commitment to student safety are essential.
