Duties Assist lead teachers with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Support students with communication, behavior management, and social skills development using techniques such as American Sign Language and other communication tools. Help facilitate classroom activities, lesson plans, and curriculum development focused on literacy, math, and life skills. Provide direct support during classroom instruction, including supervising activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Assist with classroom management by promoting positive behavior and implementing behavior intervention strategies. Support students with daily routines such as toileting, feeding, and sensory needs, ensuring a caring and inclusive environment. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly. Requirements Prior experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development, classroom management, and special education practices. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is desirable. Familiarity with IEP processes, behavior management techniques, and curriculum planning. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills and American Sign Language is a plus. Demonstrated patience, compassion, and strong communication skills to support diverse learners. Relevant certifications or coursework in deaf education, childcare, or Montessori methods are advantageous.
