Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of young adults by supporting their growth and independence in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role focuses on providing specialized assistance to individuals ages 18-21+ within transition services, encompassing behavior support and community-based learning. To be considered, candidates must present two completed professional RefAssured references at the time of application.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Strong background in behavioral support, preferably within school settings Significant or severe caseload experience strongly preferred Hands-on experience working with young adults with disabilities, particularly in community-based activities Familiarity with communication devices is a plus Ability to assist with personal care, including toileting and diapering Reliable transportation required (public transit, ride shares, etc., are not considered reliable) Punctuality is essential—must be able to report to work by 8:00am Must be able to complete district-mandated fingerprinting immediately upon offer; any felony or misdemeanor charges will result in disqualification
Role Responsibilities:
Support classroom and community instruction for students in the transition program Assist in implementing individualized behavior plans and strategies Help students use communication devices as needed Collaborate with professional staff to monitor progress and adjust supports Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment Provide direct assistance for daily living skills, including hygiene and mobility This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact while gaining valuable experience in special education and behavioral support.
