Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in a student's life as a Paraprofessional in a supportive elementary school setting. This urgent contract opportunity is based just outside of Golden, CO, working Monday through Thursday with a consistent 4-day school week schedule from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. You'll play a crucial role supporting a kind-hearted 5th grade student with a cognitive disability, helping them achieve academic and personal growth within an inclusive classroom community.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in a school setting Compassion, patience, and an enthusiasm for working with children with special needs Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers and support staff Ability to implement individualized support strategies as directed by education professionals Flexibility and creativity in providing assistance and encouragement throughout the school dayKey Responsibilities:
Offer one-on-one support to a 5th grade student with a cognitive disability, promoting independence and engagement in classroom activities Assist the student during instructional sessions, transitions, and social interactions Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Provide encouragement, guidance, and a positive presence to foster confidence and inclusion Maintain a safe and supportive environment while respecting student confidentiality and dignity This contract position presents a unique chance to participate in a caring school community centered on student growth.
