This full-time, contract opportunity focuses on working in an Affective Needs classroom, where your skills and dedication will help shape a nurturing and productive learning environment. You'll work closely with a classroom teacher and support a small group of seven students, ensuring they receive the individualized attention they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a school support role, particularly in behavior intervention or special education settings Understanding of Affective Needs classrooms or working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges is ideal Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering student growth Ability to follow specific behavior intervention plans and provide consistent guidance Capability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and other support staff

Responsibilities:

Assist with daily classroom activities, reinforcing lessons and following established routines Provide 1:1 and small group support for students, with a focus on behavioral and emotional regulation Implement behavior interventions and de-escalation techniques as required Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere Support students with personal care, transitions, and social interactions as needed Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher and participate in team meetings to discuss student progress Take the next step in your career by helping students achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.
