You belong here! We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our LPS Family! This professional will be responsible for providing individual and/or small group instruction and implementing strategies to students receiving special education support under the supervision of licensed staff within the school environment (e.g. Classroom, Center-Based Program, Cafeteria, Playground, Community, etc.). The ideal candidate is strong in making independent decisions within appropriate parameters; implementing team designed behavior intervention plans; monitoring and supporting students during school activities; preparing and modifying instructional materials; collecting data for IEP goals and behavior plans; monitoring and providing feedback on student progress; maintaining student confidentiality and adapting to changes in responsibilities and schedules. Duties may include personal care, feeding, safety and supervision, medically delegated services, providing instruction and academic support. Experience working with students with disabilities preferred; must be a strong team player with ability to work independently. Education and Related Work Experience High School Diploma Demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist in instruction in reading, writing, math or school-readiness skills or an Associates degree One year experience working with students with disabilities is preferred. Bi-lingual skills preferred. Certifications/Training Criminal background check required for hire CPR and First Aid certifications within 3 months of hire Participate in the nationally recognized, district-provided, crisis prevention training with in the first year of employment Medication administration class may be required as determined by student need Additional training may be required based on program need. Physical Demands for this position The school day consists of direct contact with the students Assist students with mobility (including manual and motorized wheelchairs or walkers) May need to assist students with toileting and personal hygiene Must be able to manipulate 50lbs safelyPhysical Demands Factor-Medium Work:
Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Starting Salary is Grade 5 at $21.17 185 Days Work Year Calendar 20.0 hours per week with BenefitsBENEFIT INFORMATION
