In this contract role, you'll work closely with a wonderful 5th grade student with a cognitive disability, providing academic and emotional assistance to help them navigate daily school life. This opportunity offers a unique four-day school week, making for a balanced and rewarding schedule.

Key Qualifications:

Previous experience as a paraprofessional or teacher's aide strongly preferred Familiarity with supporting students who have cognitive or developmental disabilities Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude

What You'll Do:

Provide direct, individualized support to a 5th grade student within the classroom and during school activities Assist with academic work, following plans and modifications set by educational professionals Encourage and facilitate positive social interactions with peers Monitor and adapt support to match the student's evolving needs Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment Communicate progress and concerns to the classroom teacher and other team members Adhere to school guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
