For those passionate about education and dedicated to helping students thrive, this contract opportunity offers the chance to work both 1:1 and within classroom settings, collaborating closely with lead teachers and supervisors near Danbury, CT. In this role, you'll provide vital support for special education students, contributing to meaningful progress by assisting in both instruction and supervision as detailed in PPT and IEP plans. Your presence will help create a welcoming, structured environment where every child is encouraged and empowered.
Key Qualifications:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a directly related educational setting Holds a Paraprofessional Certificate OR an Associate's degree (or equivalent 60+ credits) or higher Comfortable supporting students with varied needs, including potential assistance with toileting Collaborative attitude and commitment to fostering positive learning outcomes Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students as needed Partner with classroom teachers and supervisors during instruction and group activities Assist with the implementation of special education strategies and accommodations per IEP guidelines Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment Encourage student engagement and independence Support students as needed with daily living skills Enjoy the rewards of seeing your students grow, knowing your support is essential to their school experience.
