Qualifications and Preferred Background:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teacher's aide, or similar role in a school environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families Demonstrated ability to assist with classroom activities and support instructional goals Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) is preferred Ability to adapt quickly, remain patient, and maintain professionalism in a dynamic classroom setting High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic and behavioral support to students under the direction of certified teachers and specialists Assist with classroom management, group activities, and one-on-one instruction Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations or modifications as directed Help prepare learning materials, organize resources, and maintain a safe, positive classroom environment Engage with students during learning and recreational activities, encouraging participation and social growth Monitor student progress and provide input on observations to the educational team This contract role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to student success and gain valuable experience in the field of education.
