Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract assignment supporting students as a 1:1 paraprofessional. Located near Hartford, CT, this onsite opportunity serves the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of learners within a specialized educational setting. The assignment is set from October 1 to November 30, with the possibility for extension. Ideal candidates bring compassion, adaptability, and the desire to make a meaningful difference in students' daily school experiences. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school environments preferred Familiarity with supporting children who have social, emotional, or behavioral needs Ability to build rapport and foster trust with students on a 1:1 basis Effective communicator, both with students and educational teams Patient, reliable, and able to maintain professionalism in sensitive situations Compliance with background checks and required clearances Key Responsibilities Work one-on-one with assigned student, implementing behavioral and emotional support strategies Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and routines Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support the student's IEP goals Redirect and de-escalate challenging behaviors using positive interventions Document observations and progress in accordance with school protocols Uphold a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

9:00 AM - 3:00

PM Wednesday:
