Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting student success in a dynamic school environment. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled paraprofessional to provide valuable 1:1 assistance to an 8th-grade student at a vibrant middle school near New Britain, CT. This position runs from ASAP until June 11, with school hours from 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Ideal candidates have a passion for helping young learners thrive, especially those who may need additional behavioral support. Your experience and commitment will allow a student to reach their full potential while you work in a supportive, collaborative setting.
Desired qualifications:
Previous paraprofessional experience, especially with students exhibiting behavioral needs Completion or willingness to complete all required state trainings Ability to build rapport with students and staff Strong communication and observation skills Dedication to maintaining a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment Key responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support and guidance to an assigned student during the school day Assist with individualized educational and behavioral plans as directed by teachers and specialists Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities Utilize effective strategies to help manage behaviors and promote positive choices Participate in school meetings and training sessions as needed This contract position offers the chance to impact a student's educational journey directly and positively.
