About This Role The Day Care Center of New Canaan is hiring a full-time teaching assistant for our four's classroom starting fall of 2026. Applicants must possess one of the following: Bachelors, Associates or CDA in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Position begins on or about September 1st, 2026 40 hours per week including a one hour unpaid lunch break is provided daily. Competitive salary and excellent benefits. Low staff turn over, warm and welcoming work environment, NAEYC accredited program. Background check and fingerprints are required.
What You'll Do Job Responsibilities:
Be able to work in a team teaching setting Assist with planning and implantation of daily activities Be courteous and professional Maintain a positive attitude when communicating with children and families Complete 16 hours of continuing education annually Yearly epi-pen & first aid training (center will cover the cost) CPR training every 2 years (center will cover the cost) Requirements 1 year work experience in a childcare setting Email resume to Barbara Crolla, Director Nice To Haves Flexibility and dependability Some knowledge of NAEYC accreditation and project approach Benefits Sick, vacation, and personal time accrued on a monthly basis Health insurance offered
