Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting students with unique needs in an educational setting. Three full-time openings are available for talented and caring Paraprofessionals, with contract positions running from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027. Located near New London, CT, these roles offer a fulfilling opportunity to work closely with children who have complex disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, and/or emotional and behavioral challenges. Enjoy a weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM (32.5 hours per week), with comprehensive training provided to help you thrive in the role.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children who have diverse and complex needs strongly preferred Associates degree or successful completion of the Para Pro exam is preferred (but not required for applicants with relevant experience) Ability to provide compassionate, patient, and consistent support to students Strong communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
Work 1:1 or 2:1 with students, supporting both academic and behavioral needs Assist teachers in executing instructional plans and adapted learning strategies Foster a supportive, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners Implement and reinforce behavior management strategies as directed Communicate student progress and observations to the educational team Help students with daily living or mobility skills when needed You will be part of a supportive and skilled team, receiving mentorship and training to ensure your success and growth throughout the assignment.
