Paraeducator, Special Education, Full-time (32.50 hours per week)
LOCATION
West Stafford School
REQUIREMENTS
Associates Degree or equivalent, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with students individually, in small groups, and/or whole groups in the educational setting providing assistance as directed by a certified teacher. Provides students additional opportunities to practice academic, social, behavioral, life and vocational skills. Assists classroom teacher with monitoring student behavior and records behavior data when required by the
IEP / 504
plan. Implements recommendations of the
PPT/ 504
Team to support attainment of IEP goals or implements 504 plan. Implements recommendations of pupil services and related services personnel for specific students. Provides modifications and accommodations as specified by the IEP or 504 plan and behavior plans. Integrates assistive technology as required by the IEP or 504 plan. Assists students with physical care needs which may include routinely changing diapers and other life skills. Reports observations of student progress and concerns to the supervising teacher. Maintains confidentiality of student/staff/school-related information at all times. Shares student information only with supervising teacher, appropriate pupil services and related services personnel, and school administrator(s). Assists in cafeteria, auditorium, gym, recess, homeroom, playground, playing fields, bus loading/unloading, and at work sites. Displays a positive and courteous attitude. Follows all Board of Education policies. Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator(s).
HOURLY RATE OF PAY
$21.15 - $22.89, Commensurate with Experience
