Job Description

Classroom Paraeducator (Self-Contained ABA Program)
School:
Second Hill Lane Elementary School Hours:
32.5 hours/week
Position Overview:
The Stratford School District is seeking a Classroom Paraeducator to join the Self-Contained ABA classroom at Second Hill Lane Elementary School. This position involves working with young learners who require specialized academic, behavioral, and personal care support in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized academic and behavioral support to preschool students. Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans and collecting data for progress monitoring. Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, lifting, and feeding. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and development. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
Qualifications:
An Associate's Degree or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (Parapro) is required. Previous experience working with students who require academic and/or behavioral support is strongly preferred. Familiarity with behavior plans and data collection methodologies. Ability to lift and assist students with mobility, as well as provide feeding and toileting assistance when necessary. Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a commitment to supporting young children's growth and success.
