Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students as a paraprofessional focusing on social-emotional and behavioral needs in a dynamic school environment. This is a contract assignment located conveniently near Waterbury, CT, with the potential for extension beyond November 30. Engage directly with one student in a one-on-one capacity, providing essential assistance onsite.

Key Qualifications:

Prior experience as a school paraprofessional or in a classroom support role Background working with students demonstrating social-emotional or behavioral challenges Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in diverse settings High degree of patience, empathy, and adaptability Reliable attendance and punctuality for consistent support Ability to work onsite according to the schedule

Role Responsibilities:

Support a student requiring 1:1 social-emotional and behavioral guidance Partner with educators and support staff to implement behavior intervention plans Foster a safe and positive learning environment Assist in crisis de-escalation using evidence-based techniques Document and report progress or concerns to supervisory staff Help implement daily routines and academic accommodations Maintain confidentiality of student information

Assignment Details:

Contract dates: October 1 through November 30, with potential for extension

Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, and Wednesday from 9:00 AM-1:00
