Key qualifications and experience:

Previous paraprofessional or classroom support experience, preferably in a school or behavioral health setting Understanding of social-emotional learning and strategies for supporting students with behavioral challenges Ability to communicate effectively, show empathy, and maintain professionalism in sensitive situations Willingness to collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving student needs throughout the assignment Primary responsibilities: Provide direct 1:1 support to a student, fostering a safe and encouraging learning environment Implement established strategies to assist with behavioral and emotional regulation during the school day Collaborate with educators and specialists to reinforce classroom instructions and individual learning goals Assist with transitions, guiding the student through different activities and supporting engagement Document observations related to progress and behavior, communicating updates to the appropriate staff Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed to support professional development This contract runs from October 1 through November 30, with potential for extension. The schedule includes full days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (9:00 AM 3:00 PM), and an early release on Wednesdays (9:00 AM 1:00 PM).
