Job Description

Empower students and make a meaningful impact as a direct adult support paraprofessional at an elementary school setting. This contract opportunity supports students by providing individualized assistance and encouraging achievement in a nurturing learning environment. This onsite role runs Monday through Friday for 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, through June 2027. Ideal candidates are passionate about helping children thrive and possess the required credentials to support academic, behavioral, and social goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (pending permits will not be accepted unless accompanied by a DEEDS portal screenshot) Prior paraprofessional or classroom support experience preferred Willingness to undergo $85 CBC fingerprinting (to be completed by the candidate) Ability to follow teacher and district direction, and implement individualized accommodations or strategies Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of supporting student needs throughout the school day
Role Responsibilities:
Work one-on-one with assigned students to encourage academic progress and independence Support classroom routines, transitions, and activities under the direction of education staff Assist with behavior management strategies and social skill development Maintain accurate documentation and open communication with educators regarding student progress Display professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for students and colleagues Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, and other support staff This position allows you to make a real difference for students while gaining valuable experience in a school environment.
