Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Assistant Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help shape young minds during their foundational learning years. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that promotes growth, curiosity, and social-emotional development for preschool children. Your energy and commitment will directly contribute to fostering a love of learning and setting the stage for future academic success. Responsibilities Assist lead teacher in implementing curriculum activities aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development Support classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play to ensure safety and positive behavior Engage children in educational games, arts and crafts, storytime, and hands-on learning experiences that promote cognitive and emotional growth Use computers and educational technologies effectively to enhance learning experiences Support classroom behavior management strategies to create a positive learning atmosphere conducive to growth and exploration Experience Experience working with children in a VPK classroom Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices is essential Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies is important for maintaining an optimal learning environment Strong communication skills with staff and parents Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred to ensure safety during all activities Have the required 45 hours with the Department of Children and Families Please see the link to the new Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse Education and Awareness website.
