Whiz Kids Academy - Pelican is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant VPK Teacher to support our Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) classroom. If you enjoy working with preschool-aged children, collaborating with experienced educators, and helping prepare children for kindergarten success, we'd love to meet you! As an Assistant VPK Teacher, you'll work alongside the Lead VPK Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment. Support children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development through hands-on learning experiences. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and learning materials. Observe and support children's developmental progress. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members. Follow all Florida licensing requirements, health regulations, and company policies. Assist with classroom documentation, attendance, and daily reports as needed. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Florida 45-Hour DCF Child Care Training completed (Required). Professional English communication skills. Positive attitude with a passion for working with preschool-aged children. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team. Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Previous experience in a VPK or Pre-K classroom. At least 1 year of experience in childcare, preschool, or early childhood education preferred. Preferred Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or higher in Early Childhood Education. CPR/First Aid Certification.
