Deliver engaging classroom and clinical instruction on veterinary topics such as animal handling, anatomy, pathology, surgery, emergency medicine, and critical care. Supervise students during hands-on clinical training in veterinary clinics or simulation labs, ensuring safe animal handling and adherence to best practices. Support students' learning by providing constructive feedback, mentoring, and assessment of their practical skills in areas like surgical techniques, medical terminology, and pet care. Collaborate with faculty members on research projects related to veterinary education or clinical research funding opportunities. Contribute to the development of instructional materials utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary advancements by engaging in professional development activities such as publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals or participating in academic conferences. Qualifications Proven experience in veterinary medicine with a strong background in clinical practice or research settings. Demonstrated expertise in veterinary surgery, pathology, critical care (emergency response procedures), internal medicine, or reproductive surgery. Prior experience in higher education teaching or classroom instruction is highly desirable. Familiarity with curriculum development, medical research methodologies, securing research grant funding, and working collaboratively within academic teams. Extensive animal handling skills across various species including companion animals and equines; knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology essential. Proficiency with medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and learning technology platforms such as LMS tools. Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, faculty colleagues, and clinical partners. Certification or experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous; prior veterinary clinic experience is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment dedicated to excellence in pet care and veterinary training.
