DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Three-Year-Old Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, loving, Christ-centered, and engaging classroom environment for our students. The Assistant Teacher should have a positive, kind, patient, and energetic personality and genuinely enjoy working with young children. You will help support the daily classroom routine, learning activities, transitions, meals, outdoor play, rest time, Bible activities, chapel, and other classroom needs. Responsibilities include assisting with the supervision and care of the children, including toileting and bathroom assistance, hygiene, positive guidance and discipline, classroom cleanliness, and maintaining a safe and organized learning environment. You will assist the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities that encourage academic, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. The Assistant Teacher should actively engage with the children during learning and play and look for opportunities throughout the day to encourage, teach, and show God's love. As part of a Christian preschool ministry, staff members are expected to model Christ-like character through their words, attitudes, and actions. The Assistant Teacher should be comfortable participating in prayer, Bible lessons, chapel, worship, and other faith-based activities while helping reinforce biblical values in age-appropriate ways. Strong teamwork and communication are important in this position. The Assistant Teacher must be dependable, flexible, willing to take direction, and able to work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other preschool staff. All interactions with children, families, and coworkers should demonstrate kindness, patience, respect, grace, and professionalism.

Be kind, patient, encouraging, energetic, and able to connect with young children Support the Christian mission and values of the preschool and church Be comfortable participating in prayer, Bible lessons, chapel, worship, and other Christian activities Model Christ-like behavior when interacting with children, families, and coworkers Have experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting Be dependable, flexible, and willing to work as part of a team Be comfortable assisting with toileting, hygiene, meals, classroom cleaning, and other daily care needs DCF 45 Hours preferred CDA or FCCPC is a plus Must pass a Level 2 background screening Must meet all DCF training and employment requirements
