Children's Academy FishHawk Lithia, FL Job Details Part-time $15 - $17 an hour 4 days ago Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Qualifications Spanish CPR Certification English Classroom experience Lesson planning Teaching experience with young children Classroom Teaching Child Development Associate Certification Early Childhood Education Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate environment while meeting the needs of the individual child in accordance with the policies, procedures, and philosophy of Children's Academy FishHawk and the State of Florida licensing standards. We expect our teaching team to actively foster the socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each student through clear age-appropriate goals and interest centers.
WORK HOURS
Mondays - Fridays shifts between 6:30am-6:30pm with occasional special events (such as school open houses)
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Note:
the following duties are not all inclusive Understand the developmental growth and needs of the children in your care Plan weekly themed units, daily lesson plans and classroom environment following curriculum guide and developmental chart meeting the needs of each child Establish and maintain professional and positive communication with the parent(s)/guardian(s) regarding the children's development and daily activities Schedule a conference bi-annually with each child's parent/guardian to discuss the child's development, assessments, goals, and curriculum. Respect the sensitive nature of working with children and their families and maintain confidentiality Submit lesson plans, reports, assessments, children's goals, records, and shopping lists timely and accurately to the Program Director Assist with special events and projects for the overall welfare of the children at Children's Academy FishHawk Responsible for children's assessments, goals development and implementing children's goals into lesson plans and the environment
ABILITIES REQUIRED
Abilities to make independent decisions and apply established procedures to individual and specific situations pertaining to children in a non-biased manner. Must have effective communication/ interpersonal skills and be conscientious and able to efficiently handle multiple tasks.
Preferred:
A.A. degree or higher in ECE/Child Development
OR 12 ECE
credit hours and 1 year experience working in a licensed childcare facility OR CDA or CCP and 2 years' experience working in a licensed childcare facility Must be at least 18 years of age Required experience: teaching or professional childcare: 1 year Required language: English (
Preferred:
bilingual English/Spanish)
