Hourly/Nonexempt Overview St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Seton School, within the Diocese of Venice in Florida, Inc. works diligently to support and strengthen the Catholic Church and its value system. By word and example teachers support all of the official religious teachings of the Catholic Church throughout their personal and professional lives. Our teacher assistant's embrace the purpose of teaching and witness the tenets of the Catholic Faith, instill a sense of Christ's mission, charity and service to others; assist in drawing the school community into worship and to build, support and maintain a Catholic culture throughout the School and create a vibrant Catholic culture within the classroom, emphasized through words, deeds, manner of dress and actions. Job Responsibilities Assists in the supervision of learning activities providing assistance and support to students. Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher and reinforces skills introduced by the Teacher. Assists Teacher in evaluating students' work; works with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing skills based on instructional guidelines. Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining classroom order. Reinforce rules of the school and classroom, escorts students to time-out or Principal's office. Escorts, supervises and/or aids students during lunch breaks, restroom visits and other activities. Assists in the preparation of lesson plans; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities. Coordinates with media center staff for classroom learning resources. Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, decorations, displays, etc. Maintains student records. Any other task assigned.
Requirements:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience working with children. Strong communications skills both written and oral. Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle School. Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs. Ability to use technology to enhance student learning. Strong planning and organizational skills. Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check.
