In this vital role, you will provide essential classroom support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special education requirements. You will collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students' social, emotional, and academic growth. Responsibilities Assist teachers in delivering curriculum tailored to students' individual needs, including literacy, math, and early childhood education programs Support students with disabilities by providing physical assistance, behavioral management strategies, and classroom support aligned with their IEP goals Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and support students with behavioral disorders or social-emotional needs Help develop lesson plans and educational activities that foster childhood development and classroom engagement Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors to ensure comprehensive student support Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all students Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree, 60 college credits, or passing score on the ParaPro assessment preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or special education setting. Familiarity with supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or behavioral needs. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
