Job Description
Overview Tamim Academy of Miami is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and caring Substitute Teachers and Classroom Assistants to join our on-call substitute team. This position provides coverage for General Studies and/or Judaic Studies classrooms when teachers or assistants are absent. This is an excellent opportunity for certified teachers, retired educators, college students pursuing education, paraprofessionals, childcare professionals, or anyone with experience working with elementary-aged children who is looking for a flexible work schedule. Duties Step into classrooms on short notice to deliver engaging lessons and activities aligned with curriculum standards Supervise and engage students in a safe, positive learning environment. Implement lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the classroom teacher. Support students with academic tasks and classroom activities. Maintain classroom expectations and positive behavior. Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, and specials as needed. Communicate professionally with school staff and administrators. Adapt to different grade levels and classroom settings. Follow mandated reporting laws and school procedures to ensure compliance and student safety Skills Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred. Teaching certification is welcomed, but not required. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Commitment to creating a warm and supportive learning environment. Respect for the mission and values of a Jewish day school. (Knowledge of Hebrew or Judaic Studies is a plus, but not required.) Schedule On-call, as needed Half-day and full-day assignments available School hours: Monday-Thursday 8-4, Friday 8-2:30 Pay Teacher Substitute $180/day Assistant Substitute $120/day Please submit your resume through Indeed.
