Teaching Faculty I (Assistant Clinical Professor) in Elementary Education (12 Month Salary) School of Teacher Education Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and HumanSciences Department The School of Teacher Education is committed to high quality personnelpreparation programs; service to the state of Florida; and high-quality scholarly research in elementary education, early childhoodeducation, reading/language arts, foreign and second language education, special education, blindness and low vision, science education,math education, social science education, English education, and related areas. Programs consistently rank among the best in the nation,particularly the Curriculum & Instruction and Special Education programs. The School strives to provide undergraduate and graduate studentswith world-class training in teaching, research and professional development. Through the guidance and mentorship of faculty, studentsgraduate to serve as educational leaders who will contribute to the betterment of a pluralistic, global society in the context of the stateof Florida's needs for an educated, global-minded citizenry. In addition to mentoring and preparing the next generation of educators,faculty engage in a wide range of research activities. Recent Academic Analytics National Rankings placed the School of Teacher Education as fifth in the nation for number of articles publishedand third in article citations. Furthermore, faculty receive support from a robust Office of Research to pursue research opportunities,professional awards, and more. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in theElementary Education program, including but not limited to content specific methodology courses, Classroom Management, CurriculumDevelopment, and Practitioner Research. Supervise pre-service teachers in K-6 educational settings, and/or various other content andgeneral methods consistent with candidate expertise and program needs. Teach four courses in each of the fall and spring semestersand two courses in the summer. Provide service to K-12 schools, the Elementary Education Program, the College, and theprofession. Qualifications Earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction,or a related field. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A minimum of three years teachingexperience in K-12 educational settings. Commitment to and experience working with all student populations. Commitment toengaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising pre-service teachers in K-6 educationalsettings Knowledge of and experience with current best practices in instructional strategies/methods in K-6 education consistentwith the Elementary program curriculum and Florida education standards. Experience working with English LanguageLearners Experience mentoring pre-service and in-service teachers Successful teaching of face-to-face and online educationcourses at the college or university level. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students,faculty, staff, and the public. Considerations This is a Faculty position.
