Collaborate with other professionals—such as speech therapists, special educators, and counselors—to develop and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication skills to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication difficulties. Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information while adhering to policies like the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational settings, including preschool or early childhood environments such as Montessori or childcare centers. Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom support techniques for students with disabilities. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is highly preferred. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Ability to implement curriculum development strategies and assist in lesson planning for diverse learners. Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for students with special education needs. Physical ability to provide necessary support and assistance within a classroom setting. Knowledge of basic math concepts and literacy education methods suitable for early learners. Experience working within private school settings or special education classrooms is advantageous.
