In this meaningful role, you will work alongside lead teachers to support a thoughtfully prepared environment where children are encouraged to explore, develop independence, and learn at their own pace. Job Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing Montessori-based activities and lessons that encourage independence, curiosity, concentration, and social-emotional development in toddlers and preschool-aged children. Supervise and engage with children throughout the school day, including classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, transitions, and rest periods, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Support children with daily care routines as needed, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene, while following all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Help prepare, organize, and maintain Montessori materials and classroom areas, ensuring the environment is clean, orderly, inviting, and consistent with Montessori principles. Work collaboratively and communicate openly with the Lead Teacher and classroom team to maintain consistency, support children's needs, and foster positive relationships. Support positive classroom management through respectful guidance, redirection, modeling of appropriate behavior, and positive reinforcement. Observe and respond appropriately to children's individual needs while encouraging independence and allowing children opportunities to make appropriate choices. Follow all school policies, health and safety regulations, and mandated reporting requirements, including recognizing and promptly reporting suspected signs of child abuse or neglect as required by law. Requirements Previous experience working with young children in a Montessori school is highly preferred. Candidates without Montessori experience must have at least one year of experience working with children in a preschool, daycare, childcare. Knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices. Willingness to learn and apply Montessori philosophy and classroom practices. Strong classroom management skills with a calm, patient, nurturing, and respectful approach to guiding children. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and other staff members. Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and supportive environment for children, families, and coworkers. Ability to follow health, safety, sanitation, and supervision requirements while providing attentive and nurturing care throughout the school day. Dependable, responsible, and willing to be an active and supportive member of the classroom team.

Pay:

$17.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
