Description The paraeducator performs specialized work in assisting with services for collegiate high schools. Provides for the care and well-being of students and supports various functions of the school. Duties are performed under the supervision of supervisors and teachers. Essential Functions/Duties Clerical assistance will be performed when necessary. Supervision and support of students in various situations will be required. Classroom assistance will be required as directed by teachers or supervisors Basic assistance with computer lab functions may be required. Basic clinic and first aid skills may be required. Attendance at relevant in-service training and meetings will be required. Assists with student testing as required. Performs other duties assigned by supervisor and/or other divisional staff members. Duties may vary based on the needs of the assigned high school.
Typical Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualifications:
Ability to perform basic computer functions (Email, Outlook, Word, etc.). Requires contact with the public at times. Requires professional-level clerical skills (answering phone, greeting guests and students, etc.). Requires the ability to follow all school safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
Must have the ability to work proficiently in a busy, multi-office work area. Must be flexible and able to adapt well to changes. Office, sedentary. Some local travel.

Required Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Education:
An Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with high school students is preferred. Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred. Each pay level is approximately commensurate with 1 year of experience.
