This hybrid role is responsible for leading interactive candle-making classes while delivering exceptional retail service on the sales floor. The ideal candidate is confident speaking in front of groups, enjoys creating memorable customer experiences, and has a natural ability to connect with people and drive sales. You will guide guests through the candle-making process, assist customers with fragrance and product selection, and help maintain a polished, welcoming store environment. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced setting and understands that great service is about both experience and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Candle-Making Instruction:
Lead and facilitate engaging, step-by-step candle-making classes Educate guests on fragrance blending, wax types, and pouring techniques Create a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for all guests Manage class flow, timing, and setup/cleanup
Retail Sales & Customer Experience:
Greet and assist customers with product selection Recommend fragrances and products based on customer preferences Drive sales through product knowledge and upselling Maintain store appearance, restock inventory, and support daily operations
Operations Support:
Prepare materials and supplies for classes and events Assist with private events and group bookings Handle POS transactions (Square experience is a plus) Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspace
Qualifications:
Previous retail sales or customer service experience (required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading experiences Energetic, outgoing, and engaging personality Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Weekend and evening availability required Experience in teaching, hosting, or events is a plus Interest in candles, fragrance, or creative experiences is highly preferred
