Decatur Montessori School is seeking a dependable, warm, and flexible individual to join our team in a dual role supporting both our Toddler classroom (ages 18 months - 3 years) and school office. We value continuity and believe in building lasting relationships with our teachers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children while also having an interest in administrative and organizational tasks. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between the classroom and office throughout the day and will bring a positive, professional, and team-oriented approach to both areas. Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
Providing support to the co-lead teachers. Monitoring and supervising the infants constantly. Assisting the co-lead teachers in maintaining a safe and positive environment. Cultivating relationships with our infants, parents, and guardians. Adapting to and learning the Montessori philosophy to support our infants' independence and natural development.
Office Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative support to the school office. Assist with answering phones, responding to routine inquiries, and greeting families and visitors. Support filing, organizing documents, and maintaining school records. Assist with parent communications and other administrative tasks. Support the administrative team with daily school operations. Maintain a professional, welcoming, and helpful presence for families and staff.
Floater Teacher/Office Assistant Requirements:
Bilingual in Spanish and English, with Spanish as a first language. High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool, childcare, or Montessori environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable working in both a classroom and office setting. Warm, patient, and respectful when interacting with children, families, and colleagues. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs throughout the school day. Montessori experience is a plus but not required. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred. What's In It For You?

Job Type:
