Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support classroom teachers by providing engaging instruction, supervising children, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all students. As a floater, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple classrooms, gaining diverse experience while being a team player to ensure we maintain our national accreditation and quality rated status. Education:
Minimum of a Child Development Associate Credential (C.D.A.). Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Duties Assist with the maintenance of all elements of a successful classroom, including child interaction, daily activities, outside time, family style meals, and incorporating STEAM principles. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management. Support classroom behavior management strategies and promote inclusive practices for children with challenging abilities. Engage children in age-appropriate learning activities that enhance their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Collaborate with teachers to prepare educational materials and utilize computers and educational technologies effectively. Report all pertinent information to Lead Teacher and document as necessary. Maintain compliance with educational regulations and policies while documenting student observations and progress through proofreading and record-keeping; attend relevant training. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or classrooms is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom behavior management strategies. Familiarity with special education practices, literacy education, math instruction, and working with individuals with disabilities. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and team members. Ability to supervise children safely while demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm. Must be a team player and able to multi-task. Experience with NAEYC and Creative Curriculum is preferred. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and sit on the floor to interact with children. Must perform all other duties as assigned while maintaining high standards of quality and promoting the mission of the agency. Must respect diversity, and support all elements of the family unit. $31,200.00 - $32,000.00 per year
