Our approach combines individualized instruction, consistent mentoring, responsive student support, and meaningful relationships to help students make progress toward graduation and their postsecondary goals. The Job We're looking for a part-time special education paraeducator who is great with kids, comfortable with technology, and believes relationships matter just as much as academics. What You'll Do Work one-on-one and in small groups with students receiving special education services Support instruction and IEP goals under the direction of licensed staff Help students stay organized, engaged, and on track Provide encouragement, redirection, and behavioral support when needed Connect with students through video, phone, messaging, and in person Track progress and communicate with teachers and families Be a consistent, positive adult students can count on Who We're Looking For Someone who is patient, dependable, tech-friendly, flexible, and really good at connecting with teenagers. And because we're a small team, being a great teammate matters. We want someone who jumps in, communicates, asks questions, shares ideas, and helps where needed. You also need to be coachable—open to feedback, willing to try a different approach, and always looking for ways to get better at supporting students. Experience in special education, behavior support, or online learning is a plus. Iowa paraeducator certification is preferred, but we're also interested in the right person who is willing to learn. High school diploma or equivalent required. Interested? Send your résumé and a quick note telling us a little about yourself and why you think you'd be a great addition to our team to Annie Bradford at abradford@eecsia.org. $18/hour | Part-time | Open until filled Come help us do school a little differently. Empowering Excellence Charter School is an equal opportunity employer.
