Job Description

The General Education Paraeducator assists teachers in providing instructional and classroom support to students. The paraeducator works under the direction of licensed staff to help create a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.

Assist teachers with classroom instruction, activities, and supervision.

Provide academic and organizational support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.

Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.

Monitor student behavior and help maintain a positive classroom environment.

Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and organization.

Provide supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities as assigned.

Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school matters.

Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, students, families, and staff.

Follow school district policies, procedures, and safety expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or supervising teacher.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.

Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and needs.

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Demonstrates patience, flexibility, dependability, and a positive attitude.
