Job Description

Assistant Preschool Teacher We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our Waldorf early childhood classroom. The ideal candidate is inspired by Waldorf education, enjoys working with young children, and is eager to support a nurturing, rhythmic, and imaginative learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Support the lead teacher in maintaining a warm, safe, and consistent classroom environment rooted in Waldorf principles Help guide children through daily rhythms, including outdoor play, circle time, storytelling, creative play, and mealtimes Model respectful behavior and gentle discipline, fostering a sense of wonder, and cooperation Assist with preparation and clean-up of classroom materials and activities Maintain a tidy and aesthetically pleasing classroom, aligned with Waldorf values Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings Must be open to working with a mentor and willing to take direction well. Must love outdoors and going outside in all weather, year round. Must maintain strict safety standards and licensing requirements at all times. Must have very keen senses and awareness Must be agile and able to get up and down off the floor easily and carry 30 lbs if needed.
Qualifications:
Experience working with young children Interest in or knowledge of Waldorf education and child development Ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and colleagues Patient, reliable, and committed to fostering a nurturing, rhythmical environment Must be introspective and willing to do inner work CPR/First Aid certification and background check required Previous knowledge of working in a licensed childcare environment This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is either beginning their journey in Waldorf education or looking to deepen their experience in a supportive and heartfelt preschool community. From $18.50 per hour
