No Position Summary :
This position is for minors. Ski and Ride School Assistants play a vital support role in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our guests and their families. As part of the Ski and Ride School team, assistants help ensure the smooth operation of daily lessons by supporting instructors, engaging with children, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of learning areas and yurt. You will be responsible for shoveling snow, setting up and maintaining the learning area, assisting with instructors managing group dynamics. This is an ideal position for individuals who enjoy working with children, are team-oriented, and thrive in an outdoor, fast-paced environment. Assistants must be reliable, enthusiastic, and ready to contribute to a positive guest experience. You will be expected to be available to work either Saturday or Sunday from 8:00am-4:00 pm and select holiday periods.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities :
Learning Area Setup & Maintenance by dedicating at least one hour daily to setting up and maintaining the learning areas including shoveling snow, setting up fencing, signage, and teaching tools. Ensure the Ski and Ride School yurt remains clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day. Assist lead instructors with beginner-level lessons, primarily on the magic carpet and beginner chairlift terrain. Help manage group dynamics, provide encouragement, and ensure student safety and engagement. Work closely with children ages 4-12, helping them feel comfortable, confident, and excited about learning to ski or snowboard. Support transitions between activities, assist with gear, and supervise during breaks. Communicate effectively with instructors and supervisors to support lesson flow and guest satisfaction. Be proactive in offering help and stepping in where needed. Participate in clinics and training opportunities to build instructional skills, improve personal riding or skiing ability, and prepare for future advancement within the Ski and Ride School.

  • Employee must be capable of skiing or snowboarding in all types of terrain in varying and sometimes hazardous snow and weather conditions at an intermediate level.
Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, in ski/ride equipment. Must be capable of frequently or constantly balancing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, handling and twisting. May require out of the ordinary skiing or snowboarding movements in order to assist children on the mountain. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75bs.
