Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a full-time paraprofessional during the 2026-2027 school year. In this contract position, you'll work Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly, at a welcoming elementary campus near Arlington Heights, IL. Make a meaningful difference each school day by assisting experienced teachers and supporting students, including those facing challenging behaviors.
What You'll Bring:
Valid Illinois paraprofessional certification Previous paraprofessional experience, ideally supporting elementary-aged children Background in assisting students with challenging behaviors in an educational setting Comfort with 1:1 support and willingness to assist with toileting as needed Adaptability in a dynamic, interactive classroom environment
What You'll Do:
Provide vital academic and behavioral support under teacher direction Assist with classroom routines and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere Offer encouragement and guidance during lessons and classroom activities Deliver individualized support for students requiring extra attention Ensure students are safely and respectfully supported during personal care, including toileting when required This opportunity invites you to collaborate in a supportive school community and directly contribute to each child's growth and success.
