Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a vital support role for the 2026-2027 school year as a contract paraprofessional at an elementary setting. This full-time opportunity is designed for passionate professionals skilled in working with young learners, particularly those requiring additional behavioral and health-related support. Your day will involve 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with scheduled unpaid lunch and breaks to support work-life balance. In this important position, you will be working closely with elementary-aged students, including providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to a student managing diabetes. You'll help foster a positive learning environment, support teachers with instructional activities, and contribute to classroom management. Candidates with hands-on experience supporting students with unique behavioral and health needs are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
Active Illinois Paraprofessional certification required Experience with elementary students in a school setting Familiarity with responding to challenging behaviors Preferred background in providing toileting support Readiness to engage actively in a dynamic classroom setting
