Job Description

Step confidently into a contract position as a 1:1 Paraprofessional supporting students in a dynamic RISE classroom setting for the 26/27 school year. Located near Des Plaines, IL, this full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) allows you to make a direct impact by fostering growth, learning, and positive experiences for students who thrive with individualized support.
What We're Looking For:
Current Illinois Paraprofessional license required Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a school-based support setting preferred Comfort working 1:1 with students in a specialized environment, supporting social, academic, and behavioral development Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability for assisting students with diverse needs Collaborative spirit and willingness to work alongside teachers, therapists, and other team members
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, individualized assistance to a student within a RISE classroom, adapting to unique needs and learning styles Implement and reinforce educational and behavioral strategies as directed by lead teachers and specialists Support classroom routines, maintain a positive and structured environment, and assist with transitions throughout the school day Document progress, observations, and incidents accurately to contribute to student success plans Communicate effectively with the broader educational team to ensure holistic support for your assigned student This role is perfect for candidates passionate about special education and eager to make a meaningful difference throughout the school year.
