Job Description
KinderCare is seeking Assistant Teachers at our Woodridge North center to support a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. In this role, you'll partner with lead teachers to implement play-based lessons, ensure children's safety, and nurture their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. You'll assist with daily routines, classroom organization, and family communication. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers with planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities Supervise children to ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment Support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through guided play and routines Communicate positively with children, families, and team members Help maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards Assist with daily routines including meals, rest time, and transitions Observe and report children's progress and behaviors to the lead teacher Participate in training, meetings, and professional development as required Required Skills Classroom support and management Early childhood education principles Child supervision and safety Implementing age-appropriate activities Behavior guidance and positive reinforcement Observation and basic documentation of child progress Family and caregiver communication Team collaboration in a childcare setting Basic child hygiene and health practices Time management and multitasking in a classroom
