The primary focus of a Program Aide at Among Friends is to be friendly and supportive of our clients. The clients come here to socialize, have a good time, and be in a safe and secure environment. To that end, our program aides must be special people: enthusiastic and willing to appropriately socialize with the clients, provide fun and laughter through activities, games, arts and crafts, and assure, at all times, that the clients are safe and sound.

EXPECTATIONS

To be effective in this job, an individual in the role of a program aide needs a special type of personality; one that is patient and caring, but still enthusiastic. Someone who genuinely likes to work with seniors. A cheerful attitude and a smiling face is of paramount importance for success and goes a long way in making our friends truly enjoy their day with us . The program aide is expected to have a good time along with the clients, laughing with them, and showing compassion to them.

REQUIREMENTS

Acceptable Background Check results are required. Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED), or two years of prior documented experience working in programs for the elderly, or demonstrate continued progress towards meeting the educational requirement of a GED by current registration and evidence of successful completion of course work.
