- Job Summary
- We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and various activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess strong behavior management skills. This role requires a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers while providing a positive and engaging environment.
- Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safe boarding and disembarking of students, assisting those who may need additional support.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning bus, performing routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain order on the bus, fostering a respectful atmosphere among students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, routes, and any concerns that may arise.
- Monitor student behavior during transit, addressing any issues promptly to ensure safety.
- Assist in lesson planning or educational activities when applicable, especially for younger children or special education needs.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare or working with students is preferred.
- Knowledge of daycare practices, toddler care, Montessori methods, or special education is a plus.
- Strong behavior management skills to handle diverse student needs effectively.
- Ability to plan engaging activities or lessons that promote learning during transit when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact positively with children and parents alike.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record; bus driver certification may be required based on local regulations.
