Job Description

Overview Quality, NAEYC accredited childcare center is seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to assist our lead Preschool teacher and join our educational team. This role is essential in providing individualized support to children fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Our mission:
To care for, protect children, include and educate all children, including high risk children; Build a solid foundation for learning which begins at birth. Also, improve the quality of children's lives through quality childcare, early screening, early quality education, family and community support and engagement. Duties
  • Assist with classroom learning activities.
  • Supervise children inside and outside, including, but not limited to, bus duty, recess, field trips, classroom activities, and lunchroom.
  • Assist with children meal service and cleanup
  • Maintain accurate records, as assigned by teacher.
  • Assist with the assessment and evaluation of learning.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for use in the program.
  • Assist and maintain an orderly learning environment.
  • Assist with identification of and attention to children's health and hygiene.
  • Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction in learning activities.
  • Assist in communicating with parents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and data.
  • Assist with the organization, sanitation, and cleanup of used areas
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Accompany teacher during parent meetings.
  • Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position Skills Experience or training in behavior management techniques Knowledge of creative curriculum development and lesson planning techniques.
Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management strategies. Strong understanding of childhood development principles. Ability to educate and engage students effectively across various age groups. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team while being adaptable to changing classroom dynamics Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff, parents, and students. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning journeys.
EDUCATION
Paraprofessional certificate required Early childhood education credits a plus Gateways and DCFS trainings required
