Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Responsibilities:
Support students with behavioral, sensory, or communication needs in a structured classroom environment. Implement individualized strategies to address behavioral and learning goals. Assist teachers in delivering differentiated instruction to students with diverse learning needs. Track student progress and maintain documentation for behavioral interventions. Promote social-emotional growth, positive peer interactions, and inclusion. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to provide a cohesive support system for students.
Qualifications:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or sub certification required Prior experience in special education or behavioral support roles required. Experience working with students with behavioral challenges in school-based settings. Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.
