Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or special education support staff strongly preferred Passion for working with children and adolescents with diverse learning needs Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certifications in special education a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated classroom assistance to special education teachers during morning sessions Offer one-on-one or small group support to students to foster engagement and participation Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior strategies as directed Monitor student progress and observe classroom dynamics Help with instructional activities, classroom organization, and general student supervision Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere for all students This contract position offers a consistent weekday morning schedule for approximately 3 hours each day, making it an excellent fit for those looking for part-time opportunities that allow for work-life balance.
