Classroom Assistant

The Montessori School of Long Grove (MSLG) is seeking a compassionate, attentive, and patient Classroom Assistant to join our nurturing communities serving children ages 18-36 months or 3

• 6 years for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to create a calm, positive, responsive, well-organized, and engaging environment that supports each child's development. The assistant plays a key role in maintaining consistency, care, and respect throughout the day. It is essential in supporting the daily rhythm of the environment and maintaining the integrity of the Montessori approach. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in guiding children through daily routines with care and consistency Assist with toileting, handwashing, meals, and rest time in a respectful and developmentally appropriate manner Prepare and maintain a clean, orderly, and inviting classroom environment Observe and respond to children's developmental needs with patience and attentiveness Foster positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families Collaborate with faculty to support a cohesive and nurturing community Qualifications Interest in working with children ages 18-36 months or 3

• 6 years in a Montessori setting Coursework in child development, early childhood education, and/or experience with toddlers preferred Spanish fluency is a plus DCFS director qualification are a plus
