Mahomet-Seymour High School is accepting applications for an ATLAS Hourly Coach to support students participating in the ATLAS program for the 2026-2027 school year. This person will serve as a mentor and role model while providing academic encouragement, supervision, and guidance in a structured environment. This position works collaboratively with program staff to promote student engagement, responsibility, and personal growth. This would be a part-time hourly position, working approximately 2.5-3 hours per school day in the mornings.Responsibilities:
Build positive, supportive relationships with students participating in the ATLAS program. Provide academic support, mentoring, and encouragement to students during program activities. Assist with supervising students and maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. Reinforce expectations for student behavior and program participation. Support students with organization, study skills, and completion of assigned work. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and program staff to support student success.Qualifications:
Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment. Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement. Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff. Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.Salary:
The starting wage for this position is currently $25 per hour.NOTE:
Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.Application Procedure:
